Atlas Stainless workers ratify pact - Steel - Atlas Stainless Steels Ltd
October 11, 2007 – 5:37 amProduction and maintenance workers at Atlas Stainless Steels, Tracy, Quebec, have ratified a new five-year collective bargaining agreement, it was announced Wednesday by Slater Steel Inc., parent company of Slater Stainless Corp. and its Atlas Stainless division.
About 360 members of the Syndicat des Employes des Aciers Atlas had been working under the terms of a pact that expired Nov. 30, 2002. The new deal, set to expire Nov. 30, 2007, is retroactive to Dec. 1, 2002.
The company did not disclose details of the contract, and attempts to reach union representatives were not successful Wednesday.
